So, going back in time, that wildlife refuge we stopped just north of Hobart was quite interesting. We did get to see Tassie devils up close:
Cuter than expected, no? The refuge also cared for orphaned or hurt animals, including a 9-month old wombat, and some koala bears rescued from fires in South Australia the year before (koalas are not native to Tasmania):
For some reason, the refuge was also a gathering place for kangaroos, which we were encouraged to feed! Kate did and attracted an eager following:
