The air is noticeably cooler, not cool or cold, but the
promised relief from the heat seems upon us.
Our landlady said that the temperature and humidity would both ease on
March 1st, and she wasn’t far off.
Still, when the sun’s out, it’s quite hot … so, yesterday afternoon we
went to our local public pool to cool off (yes, one of those many things 2 ½ blocks
away from our apartment).
It’s a nice pool next to some nice tennis courts (for any of
you tennis buffs, I’m trying to get into a doubles game organized by Rod Laver’s
nephew) in a nicely kept park. Brisbane
does well by its public spaces.
But like I said, it’s still summery, and the evenings are
especially nice, the warmth of the day lingers as the sun sets … and we’ve seen
some beautiful sunsets from our balcony:
We ate by candle light on that perch last night, mmmm.
